Another new Christmas card design...

This is the final design for this Christmas (I'm not going to let myself make any more designs until next year!)

This one, which I've called 'Merry Christmas Deer!' is being picked up from the printers tomorrow.

I've also got this one re-printed as it has been popular so far, you can find it in the shop here!

Magazine article!

Oh my... I am featured in this month's #WelshBorderLife Magazine! It is for their article 'Inspired by the Country' - here's a quick peek inside.

The article is about my Christmas Cards - which you can find in the shop by clicking here! The magazine can be found in many retailers - I've seen it at Ludlow Food Centre (where I have Christmas cards, Greeting cards, Notebooks, Mugs, Coasters, Prints and Originals for sale until the end of December).

Excuse the over excited face - but I've not been featured in a magazine before!

Sketching

I had a lovely time sketching some chickens in the sun the other week. I love the challenge they present by constantly moving. I end up with hundreds of super quick scribbles to capture how they move and interact. I also take photographs so I can build these studies up into paintings later.

Seasonal studies

I had only been doing very quick sketches recently and so it was a real joy to sit down and study this Birch, with its leaves drying and turning from green to yellow to brown. The seeds are incredible - and get everywhere - I only had to knock it slightly for more to fall out and onto the floor!

Feedback

I've had some really lovely feedback from happy customers via my Etsy Shop recently, which has made me smile a lot...

First for the Nature notebooks - this is a 2 pack of A6 plain paged notebooks, one with Birds on and the other Tree species. Both have species labels in my own font. The books are 100% recycled and have 36 pages. This pack has been particularly popular, but the books can also be bought individually.

And this lovely feedback is for my Woodland Alphabet print - I can just picture this scene and it makes me really smile.
The print can be found here (but there are only a few left)

...I also like the idea of the future ones I could create!

Food illustrations

I promise my posts won't exclusively be about the exhibition and display that is on at #ludlowfoodcentre from now until the end of December. ..but there might be a few... Like this one, because I'm quite proud of these postcards that celebrate some specific products that are made on site at the food centre.

Before I drew these bespoke LFC pieces I'd never considered food illustrations as something I'd enjoy. These are for sale as individual postcards and or a pack of 4 postcards with envelopes (up in the gift shop).

Ludlow Food Centre Exhibition

I'm very excited to announce that I'm currently exhibiting at the Ludlow Food Centre (just outside Ludlow on the A49).

They have had visiting artists exhibiting over the last 6 months, for 2 months at a time, and now, from the 2nd of November, until the end of December it is my turn!

As you enter the Food Centre, there are some stairs on your left that head up to the Gift Shop - just head that way and you'll see my illustrations on the walls (some you may have seen here before, and some brand new ones), and the whole range of greeting cards, Christmas cards and products - all together for the first time ever.

10% of all of the sales will be donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance, so please do pop along and have a look!

I plan to be an 'artist in residence' when I can, so I'll keep this blog updated, along with social media for when I'll be there, it would be lovely to see friendly faces!
